Pierce Dutton Wins Gold Glove Award
TUSCALOOSA - Shelton State sophomore centerfielder Pierce Dutton was the recipient of the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NJCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
He is the first Shelton State player to ever win a gold glove award.
In addition, Dutton was one of only three players on the 9-man gold glove team without making an error this year.
He played in 60 games and handled all 120 chances in centerfield without an error. He had the most chances in the ACCC without an error this season.
Dutton anchored a Shelton State defense that set the school record with a .977 fielding mark this season.
In his two-year career, Dutton played in 117 games and made only one error in 239 chances for a .996 career fielding mark.
Joining Dutton on the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove team are Fort Scott pitcher Reese Kortum, Indian River catcher Jake Weatherspoon, Hutchinson first baseman Quinn Maher, Connors State second baseman Maddox Edwards, Paris College third baseman Dylan Schlotterback, Walters State shortstop Kole Fenton, Polk State outfielder Jordan Thomas and Kansas City outfielder Marcus Dierks.
